War of the Spark is out – Yeah, we know that it is out already since several weeks  but we had to test it first. We react on some cards which act contradictory towards our Philosophy of fun, entertaining and fair games for every participating player. We still have some cards on our watchlist, but we don’t want to limit this format too much yet: it is versatile, stable and many different Commanders and Playstyles are viable. We do see that Aggro-Decks are quite strong and playable, but we also have late-game combos and 7+ cc cards which can end games, too.

While Narset with Wheel-effects would be too frustrating, the Mass-Landdestruction / Mass-Landdestruction-like effects of Liliana and Ajani aren’t fun, either.

Though we think that threats like consecrated Sphinx or Cyclonic Rift can be challenging, they were voted for the „saltiest“ cards on EDH-Rec, meaning that most players find these cards as the most annoying and griefing cards to play against, so we reacted and removed them for now.
